I can’t pin point when I first met Sonyla as it was so long ago, I think we both weren’t even driving just yet. She was the first to hire me for a paid commercial shoot and we collaborated together during the early days of my business. I was and still am really inspired by Sonyla’s approach to juggling both her small business and being a mum of five. So when she asked me to photograph her family at home I let out a loud “yasss!”.

One of my major goals in each and every family sessions I do, is to capture moment’s that preserve a mothers love. So many of us (I’m also guilty of this) shy away from the camera and opt to take the photo instead of being in it. Our children are left with only a few photos that show the warmth in our eyes as we look at them, how much we love and nuture them.

For this very short time we are their everything, and they are ours. So please mama, ask someone else to take their photo, love on your children and pass down photos that show how madly you loved your babies.
