A beautiful Sydney Motherhood Session for Christina & Evie at Sydney’s Palm Beach – plus a few reasons why motherhood sessions are so important!

If you’re a Mum, you know that time takes on a whole new meaning the moment your first baby is born. I’m not one for corny sayings, but it’s true when they say that the days are long, and the years go by like the blink of an eye. The time we have with our little ones while they’re still little is so important! And one of the most precious gifts that you can give to yourself and to your babies is photos. I know, I’m biased, but I also really believe it. It’s one of the only ways for us to remember just how little they were, and for them to see just how loved they are and were and will always be. It’s for this very reason that Christina chose to book in a Sydney Motherhood Session with her beautiful, bouncy, playful Evie.

Christina knew she wanted photos of her with Evie before she grows up – her beautiful little girl is so sweet and full of energy. It’s also not hard to see just how much she adores her Mama. They booked a beautiful holiday house there, where they could cuddle up at home and play at the beach. Having time that was so intentional for just Christina and Evie was incredibly special to photograph – especially combined with the freedom and play of the beach, and the comfort of their holiday home Carinya – Palm Beach Waterfront

Motherhood is a never-ending job – it’s messy and emotional, it’s joy-filled and at times, downright hilarious. One of the reasons I am so passionate about photographing Sydney Motherhood Sessions is that it’s a special moment to slow down and focus on the good. Of course, if your little one (or ones!) are super active, slowing down might look a little different – but you get my drift! It’s a chance to spend time with them at your unique pace. That could mean running around at the beach, little toes and hands playing in the sand, and it could mean cuddling up at home reading a favourite book. Whatever it is, your Motherhood Session is a chance to capture your favourite moments of being a Mum and all that that encompasses.

The other reason I love Motherhood Sessions? Well, they’re a dedicated chance for you (yes, you!) to show up in photos!!! So often, we’re so caught up in doing so many things, or so worried that we won’t look good in photos, that we forget to get photos with our little ones**. Your kids won’t care if your tummy is a little round or if your hair isn’t perfect – they’ll just see their beautiful, loving Mum who gave them their world. And hopefully, you’ll be able to see yourself through their eyes as well.

**Pssst! To any Dads reading this – take more photos of your partner with your kids!!! While they’re sitting and reading a book, when they fall asleep cuddled on the couch, when they’re laughing at a silly joke. It’s a small action with a big impact, and she deserves it.
