I can take beautiful family photos, not just of your gorgeous, wild, silly, nutty children, or of your partner throwing them up in the air and playing and having fun, but of you as well! Of you and your world, and everything that that is – from family photos to branding photos, those delicious newborn moments to the terrifying exhilaration of starting a new business venture.
Newborn Studio Portraits from a beautiful portrait session done at my home studio in Sydney. It was such a pleasure taking Sydney Newborn Photos again after the lockdown, and I’m excited to share them with you, as well as information about Lifestyle Newborn Portraits!
Photographers across Sydney were bursting at the seams to get back to portrait sessions when lockdown finally ended this October, and of course, I was one of them! It was an absolute joy photographing baby Sophia, big brother Hunter, Mum & Dad for my first session back in my very own studio. What was originally meant to be a maternity session, booked back in July, became a newborn session. And at 6-weeks old, Sophia proved that it’s okay to do newborn sessions a little later than usual! She even got to show off some of the new additions to my client wardrobe.
If asked to picture newborn studio photography, it’s likely you’d imagine tightly wrapped babies and stuffy settings or backdrops. It doesn’t need to be this way, though! Lifestyle Studio Portraits are a beautiful medium for those of you who love the idea of relaxed photos at home but are worried about cleaning the house (just after welcoming your newborn!) or poor lighting. Or hey, you might even just be looking for an excuse to get out of the house for a couple of hours.
My studio is a natural light studio, meaning it’s got big windows that lets the light right in, and other soft lighting elements. This means you don’t need to worry about artificial flashes that might upset little ones. Plus, you can still have those gorgeous natural portraits in a relaxed studio setting. In fact, it’s for this reason that I created my very own studio! I want you to have the best photos possible, without worrying about dark, cloudy days, yellow lights, or your toddler dumping their breakfast cereal all over the kitchen right before I arrive!
After years of taking family & newborn photos across Sydney, I realised that this kind of space was missing. As a Mum myself, I know the impossibility of keeping a perfectly tidy house, and I also know how much it can mean to have photos against a beautiful backdrop. Of course, home is irreplaceable, it just might not be as Pinterest perfect as we’d like it to be! If you feel the same way, then I’d love to welcome you to my studio space.
Those early newborn days (or early weeks, in baby Sophia’s case!) are endlessly precious and fleeting. I know that it’s a bit of a cliché to say that, but of course, cliches are true for a reason! After missing out on her maternity portraits due to the lockdown, it was such a pleasure to be able to welcome baby Sophia and her beautiful family to the studio. They were able to make the most of my complimentary client wardrobe hire, and take a moment to celebrate this new life. And of course, we took some time to celebrate big brother Hunter, too, so that he felt just as much a part of the process. If you have more than one, you’ll know how important it is to include your first little loves!!
Basically, lifestyle newborn studio portraits are portraits taken in a space designed perfectly for photography, where you can still relax and feel right at home. Plus, there’s no need to invest in new outfits for mum and newborn thanks to my curated client wardrobe.
