What is Personal Branding Photography?
First thing’s first though – what is Personal Branding Photography? Personal Branding Photography is a lot like branding photography, in that these are photos that should represent a brand in a way that connects with its ideal client or audience. The difference is that personal branding is specifically for brands with a living, breathing human being representing it! This could be for a photographer, a copywriter, a lifestyle blogger, or anyone else who personally represents their brand and shows up on their brand’s website and social media.
Why Personal Branding Photography is Important
Here’s the thing, people buy from other people. They love nothing more than having a story to tell or to hold onto, and this can be a powerful tool for business! Think about it – if somebody asks you, for example, where you got your bracelet from and it’s just from a chain store, you’ll mention the name of the store and that’s it. If, though, you bought your bracelet from a market stall where you met the maker, and that maker had an amazing story about their business, you’re answer would be so different. You might say, ‘I got this from this amazing girl at this market. You have to check it out!’ You might even send over their Instagram or social media accounts because you really want that maker to thrive. Now, we can’t all have market stalls or personally meet all of our clients, but personal branding photography is the next best thing. Beautiful imagery, including photos where you are front and centre, will immediately attract your ideal client.
Not only that, it will give you a chance to then tell your story, to let them know which problem you’ll solve and why they should pay you for your service or product. And hey, even if they don’t immediately make a purchase, if you continue to share imagery that is beautiful and consistent, they’re more likely to remember you, to trust you, and eventually, to buy from you.

How to Prepare for your Personal Branding Photography Session
The good news is that when you book a Branding Mini Session with me, most of the planning is already taken care of. I know that being in front of the camera can be daunting, so I want to make it as easy as possible for you. This is why I always pair up with a beautiful venue and connect with amazing hair & makeup artists to help you look and feel your best on the day.
The most important thing that you can do is consider the kinds of photos you need to accurately represent your business, and any props you need so you’re ready to make the most of the time. But don’t worry – I’ll be there to guide you through this process.
Winter Mini Branding Portraits in Sydney
For my most recent Mini Branding Portraits day in Sydney, in June 2022, I teamed up with Pamela Mladenov Hair, Ash & Co Sydney, and Summerhope House. This beautifully curated and carefully thought-out space made for the perfect location, with light-filled corners and beauty in every angle. Meanwhile, Pamela & Ash made sure everyone was looking & feeling their absolute best for their session!
It was the most incredible, supportive environment. From the moment I arrived at SummerHope House, I knew it would be an epic day, and it didn’t disappoint. Actually, scratch that. From the moment I filled up the booking sheet and met with all of the wonderful business owners who came out that day, I knew it would be an amazing experience. Everyone brought their A-game and I’m already so looking forward to our next Mini Personal Branding Photography Day in Sydney.
